Using the wrong color cartrigde can harm the result of a print, cause production downtime with service call or even damage machines. This can be reliably prevented by automated identification of cartridges by means of RFID. Aditionally the system can be empowered to warn the user to change a cartrigde timely. The right point in time is calculated out of date of cartridge installation and its expirary date. By estimation of the alreasy used color it approxiamtely generates the fill level of every single color container.
