Hexagon Nut Simplifies Connector Handling
15/15 – Turck has optimized its TXL and TEL connectivity series with coupling nuts for easy tightening by hand or with an open-end wrench
Mülheim, October 20, 2015Turck optimizes the grips of its two connectivity series, TXL and TEL. A new hexagon nut has now been integrated in the knurled grip of the connectors. The improved wrench contact surface simplifies the secure tightening of the plug connectors with screw wrenches. The manual tightening of the coupling nut is also simplified by the broader and rougher grip surface. The optimized coupling nut is introduced for all straight and angled M8 and M12 plug connectors of the black TXL and TEL cable types as well as all other cable colors of the two product series.
The connection and extension cordsets of the TXL line combine in a single series the different requirements that previously had to be reserved for special cables. The cables are jacketed in abrasion resistant polyurethane (PUR). TXL cables are halogen and silicon free, and are nevertheless flame retardant, weld-splatter resistant, particularly suitable for trailing cables, and resistant to oil and chemicals. The TXL line meets the requirements of the North American cULus standard as well as the European RoHS guidelines.
Turck is offering the TEL series for price-sensitive machines and plants with standard requirements. The PVC cables are resistant to acids and alkalis, as well as being flame retardant and cULus and RoHS approved.
